From September 9 to 12, 2024, the 20th International exhibition of machinery, equipment and technologies for the logging, woodworking and furniture industries LESDREVMASH-2024 will be held in Moscow at Expocentre. For many years, this exhibition has been Russia's largest and most authoritative industry event in the field of woodworking equipment, ranging from logging to the production of furniture, building materials and wood products.
In 2024, over 200 companies are scheduled to participate in the exhibition and a diverse conference program will discuss topical issues of the development of the timber industry in modern economic conditions. Leading Russian timber producers will gather at the WoodWorld 2024 forum to discuss export issues.
In 2024, the LESDREVMASH exhibition will host a Supplier's Day for the first time, within the framework of which b2b negotiations on the export of timber (lumber, wood-based panels, biofuels, etc. products) will be organized. These negotiations will be held in the format of direct contacts, where Russian suppliers will be able to present their products to the largest foreign buyers, hold negotiations and agree on the supply of their products in one day. Russia has every opportunity to increase exports of its wood products in the coming years. Russian lumber is in demand abroad primarily due to the high quality of the source material – wood, which has a high density and special beauty due to the growing conditions in the territories of the Northwestern and Siberian regions. In addition, due to climatic conditions, the northern forests of the Russian Federation are less damaged by insects and microorganisms. Accordingly, such wood is more durable and resistant to further use.
Combined with the competitive price, Russian lumber is attractive to importers from many countries. Foreign consumers buy Russian wood raw materials for the production of building materials, floors, furniture, plywood, construction of residential buildings, social and commercial facilities, for cladding and finishing of internal and external parts of buildings, for some countries the purchase of wood fuel is relevant. Changing the geography of exports, restructuring logistics chains, searching for new partners – these issues are of vital importance for many timber industry companies.
