From October 7 to 9, Russian Paper Week 2026 and the Russian Forestry Forum 2026 will be held in Moscow at the Congress Center of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU). The event will focus primarily on packaging solutions for the food industry, import substitution, and compliance with environmental legislation. Registration for the forum is now open.
The business program will feature strategic sessions, round tables, and practical seminars covering the entire production chain, from timber harvesting to finished packaging and printing.
The forum will host a specialized conference, "Pulp and Paper Packaging Solutions for the Food Industry." Participants will discuss functional packaging for eggs and other food products, including molded fiber products, specialty laminating boards, and innovations in food industry packaging, such as the biocidal properties of paper packaging, as well as disposable paper and cardboard products. Additionally, a panel discussion titled "Plant-Based Polymers: Sustainable Materials for a Circular Economy. Paper vs. Plastic" will be held, focusing on the transition to eco-friendly packaging and plastic substitution.
For food manufacturers, processors, and retailers, participating in the forum is an opportunity to find packaging material suppliers, learn how to reduce logistics and storage costs through optimized packaging, receive guidance on transitioning to eco-friendly and recyclable materials in compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations, and explore innovative solutions that enhance product preservation and shelf life.
Beyond packaging topics, the forum's agenda will address the raw material security of pulp and paper manufacturing, including fiber supply, the use of recovered paper (waste paper), and alternative plant fibers. There will also be sessions dedicated to the digitalization and automation of manufacturing processes, which is highly relevant for modern agro-processing enterprises.
