The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India has released the import data for vegetable oils (both edible and non-edible) for July 2024. The import of edible oils in July 2024 reached 18.40 lakh tons, slightly lower than the 18.52 lakh tons ever highest in August 2023.

Over the period 2018-2023, the volume of flakes and cereal consumption in the UAE increased by 12.9% to reach a record level of 10.5 thousand tons.

In 2018-2022, the production of vegetable oils in Egypt gradually increased: in 2022, 858.0 thousand tons of vegetable oils were produced in the country, which is 13.9% higher than in 2021. Most of the production of vegetable oils in Egypt in 2022 fell on soybean oil — 95.6% (820.0 thousand tons).

Sales of pasta in Saudi Arabia for the period 2018-2022 increased by 28.2% (from 118.5 to 151.9 thousand tons). In 2022, the total sales volume amounted to 151.9 thousand tons, which is 4.8% more than in 2021.
