According to the "Moscow Industrial" publication by the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow, Russia's construction materials industry reached a production value of 2.8 trillion rubles in 2023, marking a 2.8% increase compared to 2022.
The first half of 2024 showed even stronger growth in the sector. In value terms, production increased by 5.6% year-on-year, while volume growth was even more pronounced. Notably, sheet glass production expanded by 7%.
The use of glass in architecture and construction has been a defining trend in recent years. Panoramic windows, glass facades, and glass roofs have become essential elements of contemporary urban development, driving innovation in the industry.
Experts estimate that in 2025 the market volume may decrease by 5%, but the quality within this market will grow. Russia has a surplus in terms of production capacity. At the same time, there are export opportunities. These are, first of all, the markets of the CIS countries and Turkey. In the perspective of the next 5-10 years, the glazing market will move towards safer and more energy-saving solutions that effectively protect against excessive solar heat and noise pollution.
In light of the growing requirements for glazing parameters, the issue of the industry's competitiveness in the international market seems more relevant than ever. These and many other issues will be discussed at the 26th International Exhibition of Glass Products, Technologies and Equipment for Glass Manufacturing and Processing “World of Glass”, the largest international industry exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe, will be held March 11-14, 2025 at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
The World of Glass exhibition will be held under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Glass Union of Russia, the Union of Designers of Russia, and the National Association of Manufacturers of Building Materials, Products, and Structures.
For over 25 years, World of Glass has maintained its position as the largest glass industry event in Russia. It runs alongside RosBuild, an international exhibition for construction and finishing materials, as part of Russian Construction Week.
