Within the framework of the 20th Anniversary International Exhibition of machinery, equipment and technologies for the logging, woodworking and furniture industry LesDrevMash in Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow, September 9-11th, 2024, the next Forum of the timber industry companies WoodWorld-2024 will be held.

The Lesdrevmash International Exhibition of Machinery, Equipment and Technologies for the Logging, Woodworking and Furniture Industries is the main industry event in Russia that takes place in even-numbered years at EXPOCENTRE Fairground.

From September 9 to 12, 2024, the 20th International exhibition of machinery, equipment and technologies for the logging, woodworking and furniture industries LESDREVMASH-2024 will be held in Moscow at Expocentre.

Lumber production is the segment of the timber industry that forms a significant part of the export revenue of the industry in Russia. Unfortunately, Rosstat works in such a way that it does not provide data on small and medium-sized enterprises, so the assessment is based on NLARI agency data.

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization for 2022, more than 50% of all forest resources are concentrated in 5 countries: Russia, Brazil, Canada, the USA and China. Russia ranks 2nd in the world in terms of forest resources – 82 billion cubic meters.

China is the leader in the global consumption of lumber, which is facing serious problems. These problems relate primarily to the real estate market, which is the main driver of demand for lumber in any country

Despite the significant narrowing of sales channels for Russian timber products over the past year, Russia remains part of the global wood product market, and, accordingly, is subject to trends in the global economy.

In general, there is a recovery in the wood-based panel market. The markets of chipboard (including OSB) and fiberboard are close to recovering to values before the introduction of Western sanctions

According to the operational data of the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia, the volume of furniture production in Russia for 6 months of 2023 increased by 8.6% compared to the same period of 2022 and amounted to 26.8 million pieces.
