The economy of Kyrgyzstan consists mainly of the service sector and industry. In 2022, GDP growth was 7.0%.

The industry is represented by the energy and mining industries. There are companies in the light and food industries. A significant part of agricultural products is exported. The republic has developed animal husbandry — cattle, sheep and goats, horses, poultry.

Tourism is an important source of income for Kyrgyzstan. The share of tourism in GDP in 2019 was 5% and, according to the National Statistical Committee, about 1.8 million people visited Kyrgyzstan in 2019.

A significant part of the tourist services provided fell on the Issyk-Kul region, where in 2022 1,434 recreation and tourism organizations, including guest houses, provided reception and service to tourists.

Automotive industry: In 2020, the first Kyrgyz automobile brand "Kami Motors" appeared in Bishkek.

Gold, mercury, tin and tungsten are extracted from the depths of Kyrgyzstan. Annual oil production is insignificant.

According to statistical information from UNSD and EES EAEC data, in 2019, the production of organic fuel is 2,096 thousand tons. The total supply is 4066 thousand tons. 472 thousand tons or 10.1 of the total supply were spent on conversion at power plants and heating installations. The net installed capacity of power plants is 3,869 MW, including: thermal power plants burning organic fuels — 19.0%, renewable energy sources — 81.0%.
