Guinea is a predominantly agrarian country rich in natural resources. Agriculture employs 76% of the working-age population (2006), it provides about 20% of GDP (2015). The main crops are rice, cassava and corn. Bananas, cocoa, oil palm products, pineapples and peanuts are exported and grown mainly on plantations.

Industry employs 24% of the working-age population, it provides about 37% of GDP.

The main industry is the mining industry, which almost completely provides revenues to the state budget.

Huge and high-quality bauxite deposits have been explored, Guinea has 2/3 of the world's bauxite reserves. There is an aluminum plant whose products are exported.

There are deposits of gold, diamonds, iron and uranium ores, and copper. Gold mining provides 1/5 of exports.

There are also companies in the cement, textile and food industries.

According to UNSD and EES EAEC data, Guinea's energy sector: organic fuel production — 5197 thousand tons. The total supply is 7306 thousand tons. Installed capacity — net of power plants — 621 MW, including: thermal power plants burning organic fuel — 40.9%, renewable energy sources — 59.1%.

Export items: bauxite, gold, diamonds, coffee, fish, agricultural products. Export Partners: South Korea, India, Spain, Ireland, Germany

Import items: petroleum products, metals, machinery, transport equipment, textiles, grain. Import partners: China, the Netherlands, India.
