Burundi
Burundi is an agrarian state. 93.6% of the able-bodied population is employed in agriculture, it provides 39% of GDP. Half of the territory is cultivated, a third is under pastures. Bananas, sweet potatoes, cassava, rice, corn, sorghum, vegetables, tea and coffee are grown. Coffee, tea and cotton are exported.
Industry employs 2.3% of the working-age population, it gives 18% of GDP. The main industries are light and food.
