Antigua and Barbuda
Antigua and Barbuda is a developing country specializing in international services. Tourism is the basis of its economy, and gambling is also highly developed.
Agriculture employs 7% of the able-bodied population, it provides 3.8% of GDP. The state is the largest landowner, which owns about 3/4 of the country's land fund. Agriculture specializes in vegetable growing, cotton growing, cattle breeding, cotton and fruit are exported. Fish (for local consumption) and lobsters (for export) are caught in coastal waters.
Industry employs 11% of the working-age population, it gives 22% of GDP. The industry is represented by enterprises of the light, oil refining and food industries. In the industrial sphere, the state pursues a policy of stimulating the creation of new industries by exempting enterprises supplying products for export from paying taxes for a period of 15 years. Since 2000, there has been a trade and production zone with a special tax and customs tariff policy. Light and chemical industry products (furniture, clothing, dyes, galvanized plates) are produced here. Of great importance are the food (especially rum production), oil refining and mining (sand) industries.
